i said a list that is as ill as mine

you have a long list with a lot of mc's that cant keep up bar for bar

like lets take your top 5 bar for bar rappers on ya list in no certain order ya got...

nas
g rap
prodigy
monch
ll cool j

now this is just an example ya can make substitutions if u wish so thats top 5 bar for bar queens

here is a brooklyn list i can make without even using any top names

sean price
killah priest
sticky fingaz
GZA
talib

there is no set of 5 off your list you can put up against this 5 that would be greater bar for bar than this right here

mind you thats just one variation i could do...

big
jay
jeru
joell
masta ace

or

sauce money
busta
raekwon
papoose
fab

etc...

and as i said my list is not complete

in the realm of sales queens got sales by a mile

but better mc's??

brooklyn has something in the wwater

by the way mc shan being on ya list twice doesnt make him any better lol

plus sticky from brooklyn so cant put onyx can do fredro and the other dude tho

and surprised craig G wasnt bolded he is a lot stronger rapper than a few you did bold

Qeens has diversity, Brooklyn mostly (NOT ALL obviously) has punchline rappers that all sound way too derivative of the other.
You can tell almost ALL of the emcees styles apart from Queens, while Brooklyn would take a few days, probably months to analyse and explain.

Imho, Queens also has more interesting flows, lyrical approaches, technical rhyme styles, and deliveries, putting them in another sub-class of their own category. From their borough you don't really see anyone still trying to be the next Nas or KGR, meanwhile Brooklyn past '02-'04 can not stop dikkriding or biting, Hov, Biggie, Fab, etc.

shyt, Dave East is from Harlem and already sounds more interesting than most Brooklyn had to offer from the late 90's to now. I'd say Bronx, but all they have is really KRS and Pun, Manhattan seldom gets mentioned, and Wu-Tang is basically Staten Island. Still, Dave is steadily progressing to providing more than simply going for "bar for bar" status, which already too oversaturated as is in NYC as a whole. You make it seem like having bars is all there is to being a New York Rap artist.

The contrast between how the boroughs regard each other's "passing the torch" rite of passage is huge too. Queens lets you be who you are as long as you pay respects, Brooklyn will leave you dapless for trying not to be the next Biggie. Kinda ridiculous they had to make that "Notorious" movie to really sell that notion. We get it, everyone loves the ugliest fat nikka from the Stuy, but is being yourself that hard to appeal to?

Just look at the distinct range from RUN-DMC, Public Enemy, Rakim (Long Island still counts as Queens area), LL, Salt-N-Pepa, KGR, Nas, Mobb Deep, Monch, 50 Cent and currently Nicki. That range is utterly unforeseeable, 4 generations of completely different artists and personalities.
I'll instantly that take over a 1,000th shyt tier "Ready To Die" impersonation/tribute, you don't get that amount of variation from even one generation of Brooklyn.

You say "better" when this is more than bars, and star power, but who stands out more as being individual. Sure there are similarities, but Queens has way more longevity with Rap trends and influence than Brooklyn has - save Kane's change in Rap style, Biggie dying, Hov's rise to prominence and Fabolous being staunchly Independent and punchline-driven.

Brooklyn indeed "keeps on taking it", but Queens keeps on making yourself standout be the utmost essential part of being a New York Rap artist. It's not forced either, the way it should still be to this day.

On legacies, Brooklyn stays disowning and beefing between generation's, meanwhile Queens is just: :myman:

It feels less like a high school competition (excuse 50's tendency to troll and start beefs with everyone), and more like an actual family. No disrespect to Bucktown, just seems like one borough treats the other with love and respects way more, being more forward thinking and artistic.

Brooklyn has more people than most cities too :usure:

It would be 4th in the nation.

Its not like Compton which have 100k residence in comparison to Brooklyn's 2.5 million

Which is why they have more derivative emcees than all the other boroughs. Population density heavily affects creativity in artistry and self-expression.This is like saying Russia won all the wars they fought in, due to sheer numbers in manpower and reserve. It's not about how many you have, but how formidable your ambassadors/team are, and the way they utilize their skills and talents to have the ultimate edge.

Also, it seems they are one-track minded with idolizing and kissing Big's ass. Meanwhile Queens doesn't hesitate to acknowledge at anytime of the week what each of them did differently (Pros AND Cons), and in their own ways at that.
Nas has stans too, but even they once in awhile can surprise you.

I noticed when I used to debate on boroughs, those in favor Brooklyn would not take constructive criticism in any form.
Damn near impossible, bro, obsessed with the illusion of perfection.
