Geography wise, yes, but Long Island is not a part of NYC, Long Island is not protected by NYPD, they have their own police force, different color traffic lights, etc.

i was born in the Bronx and lived there til i was 14.... i know all about NYC and Long Island... and i know the hamptons and brooklyn/queens are alot dif. but its all still long island
