Literally buying the Beatles catalogue and valuing it more than Paul McCartney did (who actually had more money than Michael) was an impressive use if foresight. Then on top that not pimping it out but letting it sit and accumulate in value.

But Jay-Z might be not too far behind at This point.

And you know all the circumstances that prevented other artists from doing the same thing? MJ was good friends with Paul McCartney who taught him the game of owning catalogues. If that wasn't the case history would be different.

McCartney didn't teach MJ the game. I think he might have opened his mouth and mentioned that the Beatles publishing was up for auction or sale.



MJ just outbid him. Remember, MJ was a former child star who was managed by his father. He knew the ins and outs of publishing. Perhaps he didn't know the value of the Beatles catalogue.......until Paul was lowkey bragging.

I second Byron Allen, Master P after him. It's easy to flip notoriety into money like the Kardashians did (and it was the mom who's running the show in that family). Byron Allen moved in silence for the most part.

Master P is one the the most talented (besides his rap skills) people on the planet. Extremely intelligent, he could made it big 1/2 dozen ways.
