Depends if we are restricting this to coli or talking overall big picture.
Politics - this is a given aspect of human society to ferret out policy on how resources are distributed so I'm mostly meh about it. Cause it will always exist in a social group. It's more of a question of politics in relation to what? and the state of said politics
(ex. on the brink of a shooting war V.S. "spirited" convo)
Gender wars - (big picture)This is the worst, you can't get shyt done as a species if you have those responsible for reproducing, maintaining, acculturating that species in silos with their arms up.
(on Coli)In terms of just the coli there aren't enough women here for that much dust to be kicked up. In addition most of the Ladies of the coli are in sum generally constructive in their postings. I.E. it's mostly one sided rambling on the coli and no counter fukkery to fuel it on.
AssimilationistDivisivesOrSellouts - (on Coli)This is the worst cause it's completely pointless and isn't even about what folks claim it's about. These are the same people who were doing that stupid...
- AAgang, BAgang nonsense on the coli.
which was an extension of those ...
- early 2010s youtube videos about Afrcan Americans vs (insert group here)
which themselves were an extension of...
- childhood beefs from immigrant hubs(NYC, Miami, DC, Minneapolis, etc) that folks ain't got over.
But instead of that convo they try and avoid/shield it by highjacking conversations about shyt that has nothing to do with the real topic ...shyt that even predated their nonsense and doesn't require them. Examples...
- Black Agenda - Folks were calling for Obama to make policies specific to African Americans like he did for Women, Alphabets, Mexicans, etc. way back then and were constantly told told he wasn't the president of black America. This is what caused people to push for a "black agenda".
- Reparations - Ta-Nehisi Coates was the one who elevated reparations on the national mindset with his Atlantic article "The Case for Reparations". Even then HR40 "Commission to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals for African-Americans Act" had been on the table being pushed long before even Coates article popped up. Likewise campaign trail Obama, Hilary, & Sanders were questioned on reparations long before this political cycle.
- Ethnicity(definition & advocacy) - Advocating for African Americans to get into everything from political positions(mayors, Governors, Judges, ...teachers, business owners, police officers, etc) to building culturally specific curriculum(African American studies, diaspora studies, etc.) & institutions ("National Museum of African American History and Culture"," National Museum of African American Music"," National Civil Rights Museum", "Birmingham Civil Rights Institute", "Lest We Forget Museum of Slavery", "THE CHARLES H. WRIGHT MUSEUM OF AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY", "National Underground Railroad Freedom Center", "Whitney Plantation", etc etc etc) to define/catalog us already exist.
But instead of having the real conversation about what is essentially a local issue to those immigrant hubs they try and highjack all these other topics that predates them
(and doesn't need their advocacy to exist) in a bid to legitimize their existence.
(big picture) immigrant hubs
(NYC, Miami, DC, Minneapolis, etc) are just that local hubs and have little to do with Memphis, savannah, Birmingham, Atlanta, New Orleans, st. louis, etc etc etc.
I.E. most African Americans don't live around these hub
(NYC, Miami, DC, Minneapolis, etc) places...
...so these local dynamics are none issues for most African Americans and all the other topics they hide behind(ethnicity, reparations, black agenda) will & have exist anyway so AssimilationistDivisivesOrSellouts are irrelevant in the big picture. Now on the coli they try to infest too many topics with their local nonsense which is what makes them bad here.
