Nah give Nintendo their W. The Wii out sold both the PS3 and 360.

Sega vs. Nintendo was definitely the more epic console war.

I'm a SNEShead for life, but the Genesis was still a great console in its own right. The SNES had better graphics/sound and a better lineup of RPG's, but the Genesis had a faster processor and was better for sports games. Sega had the GOAT marketing in the early 90s, too.
I'm still amazed with how badly Sega fumbled the bag after the Genesis era. Why did they have to mess up the Western launch of the Saturn like that?

They had GTA4 dlc, Bioshock, Ninja Gaiden 2, COD dlc, and Mass Effect as timed exclusives. Microsoft wasn’t playing during the 360 era.

My homies all had 360.

My girlfriend/future wife had Wii.

I had PS2/OG Xbox for a long time and waited until like '08 or '09 to decide. Homies kept pushing me to get 360 but for some reason, I wasn't feeling it. Then the RROD hit EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM, multiple times. Took my azz to the store and got a PS3.

I thought 360 was cooler but the reliability issues made it a no-go. Fun as hell to play Madden at my friend's cribs though.

Nintendo vs. Sega felt more like a real "war" though.

N64 vs PS1 felt like a battle because of Mario 64 and Golden Eye, but PS1 seemed like the top dog by late 1997 or 1998. MGS, Tekken 3, FFVII, Twisted Metal, Crash Bandicoot...felt like they had a hit coming out every other week.

Same. I didn't give a flying fukk back then, but the Sega commercials were funny. Was singing them joints whole time eyeballing a SNES in the SEARS Christmas Catalog.

The 360 was definitely seen as the cooler console during that era. It was everywhere in pop culture and damn near the preferred console of that gen. Xbox live, prime COD, the timed exclusives/dlc, Gears, Halo 3, party chat, the controller, and better optimized multiplats. Crazy how Microsoft fumbled after that gen.
