Those Boys and Girls foundations keep a lot of lil nikkas off the streets and out of trouble. Yeah a lot of nikkas have charities and just having his named attached to it might not mean much to you but that along with the Educational programs he's apart of are enough for me. Anything where its clearly effecting kids in a positive way is good in my book

Intruder makes a good point, though. Using their star power to draw attention to social issues would have a greater impact on things just because it's on a broader scale, that money is only going to reach so many but something televised or written about can be accessed by anyone. These athletes have a great influence on people.

Now granted speaking out isn't doing them any favors and it's not like the black community is going to pool their money together to keep Lebron or whoever afloat if they get blackballed and the money stops. NO agenda good or bad goes without some sort of backlash.

I'm sorry breh. As much as i respect both of them, Kobe and MJ are some of the most selfish mofos ever IMO. They take what they can out of it but don't do much for the black community with all their influence.
Not saying they owe us anything BTW. They worked hard to get where they are and none else was shooting in the gym with them.
But let's not act like these two haven't always separated themselves when their voices could have had an impact. I understand and respect why they do it from a business standpoint. But let's call it what it is.

I agree. could have been this generations ali when it comes to social issues because of how popular he was around the world. he don't owe us shyt, and he was always about getting that bread and kinda being non-political in order to appeal to the largest # of people and maximize his dollars.
