I was thinking on this topic for a minute. Constantly going for it on 4th instead of taking the field goal is the NFL equivalent of too many threes taken in the NBA.

Personally in the NFL I don't think going for it on 4th too big of a risk if it doesn't work. You give the other teams defense momentum and you give their offense a short field. I know field goals aren't automatic anymore but like the old coaches say, any drive that ends in points is a success..

Chucking up 3's is just the byproduct of Steph Curry and Golden States run and bad coaching. Some of these teams don't even run plays or get in position for the offensive rebound. Dudes pulling up for threes on fast breaks. It's just dumb basketball but the fans hate fundamental players so you get what you get.
