In the 90's they were about even.. I feel like Sacramento should be mentioned as well... they were putting out a ton of heat in the 90's. They brought a darker vibe to gangsta rap that separated it from G-Funk and Mobb Muzik..

The early 00's (from about 2000 to 2005) I'd give to the bay, they had nothing but heat until the Hyphy bandwagon shut everything down...

LA did get their sound from us..Too $hort has been rapping longer than any other LA artist..who was after $hort? Ice T? Anyway the bay influenced LA more than they influenced us..we started the crips ,.that came out the panthers..Dre and Snoop even admit getting influenced by bay artists like 415...we run the independent game...we are the epitome of gangster rap..you wanna hear real gangster rap..then come to the bay..we really live this..





BTW WHEN YOU SPEAK ON BAY MUSIC YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT EAST OAKLAND MUSIC....WE CONTROL THE BAY AND ALWAYS HAVE WITH THIS HIP HOP shyt!
