Curry wouldve had that record if not for his ankle injury
no no no

curry wouldn't have tied the record if it wasn't for the ankle injury.....everything would of played out different, the game would not of gone into overtime where steph hit 3 more three's

Y'all are following the #s on some Morey shyt...

Level of Competition
Steph playing in OKC against KD/Russ who had a combined 63pts, 18asts, 19rebs

Kobe was playing a bum raptors team (their leading scorer in the game was Mike James). Their coach refused to double Kobe to teach his team a lesson.

Clutch Moments
Steph coming back from a rolled ankle, and hit the game winning shot in OT

Kobe's team won by 20, they had the lead in the 4th, he was just stat padding at that point

Style
Kobe took 46 shots, and shot 20 free throws to get to 81

Steph took 24 shots, and finished with the most 3s ever in a game, oh and he hit the game winner in OT on a pull up from 32 feet out..
--

David Thompson scored 73 points to win the scoring title. That doesn't make it a better game than Bron's game 6 against boston.

Gotta consider the stakes, the style, and the overall performance, not just the total points.

Only reason I'd pick Kobe's performance is that he did that in regulation time, and Curry needed OT. Curry's performance was more impressive in the sense that he did it against a much better caliber team in OKC against two premier players in Durant and Westbrook and finished in spectacular fashion. Not only that, but he broke an NBA record (as did Kobe) and tied another one while doing so - plus he didn't need a glut of free throws to achieve this either. Oh, and he had to leave the game with an injury. Not to mention that the defending on Kobe was just terrible. They threw everything they could at Curry. They are on the same level imo.

Another question would be is this effort more impressive than Klay Thompson's 37 point quarter? :patrice:

Tonight:
  1. Broke the NBA season 3 point record with 24 games still to play.
  2. Tied the all time single game 3 point record, with least amount of shot attempts.
  3. Kept the best team record in nba history alive
  4. Broke the record for clinching the playoffs
  5. Hit the game winning shot 10ft behind the arc, by choice not due to time .
  6. 58% fg, 75% 3pt shooting percentage
  7. C-walked on Kd, Russel Westbrook and Chesapeake Energy Arena in a primetime game on ABC .
:whew:

Someone make the Kobe list.

give kobe a top 4 PF ever, a top 10 alltime PG, and a top 3 center of all time and he wins FMVP
