The only legitimate argument for taker/Punk is if they're putting Cena over. Cena will be the heel in the match and will be booed hard, and ending WM with a big babyface victory is what they do. If they're putting cena over, I can see the reasoning for having taker beating Punk ending the show.

There's no question Cena/Rock is the biggest match on the card though, even if my interest for the other two is higher. Cena got the most heat last night, Rock the biggest pops.

I'm really excited for Brock vs HHH. Didn't care too much when they announced it, but they've built it up well.

Rock/Cena sold the tickets, that is truth. But in realty, Wrestlemania in NY sold the tickets. That place was going to be sold out one way or the other.

It's not the main event though, it's not even being booked that way.

if triple H vs Undertaker didn't main event the last 2 years, what makes you idiots think that punk/taker will close the show?

plus the last 2 wrestlemania had Cena and Rock involved in the main event. There's 0.0001% chance that HHH/Brock main event and even less for Punk/Taker.

:dwillhuh:

Am I the only one who read the OP?

Dude is asking what is OUR main event.

I think the majority did, just the few goofs didn't get it.

I`m gonna be in MetLife jacked up for whenever that Taker/Punk match comes on, if Rock/Cena main event it`ll just be whatever to me unless Cena turns

So the main event of Wrestlemania should be showcased on Raw by 2 separate promos 2 hours apart where the headliners don't even speak face to face?

I don't like the build-up either, but the two biggest stars in the business going at it should always be the WM main event. :manny:

Rock really isn't in this business.

As much as Taker is a part-time guy, he's known for nothing else. He was much more dedicated to his match build than Rocky was

For everyone saying that the two biggest stars in the business should be in the main event at Mania, Rock/SCSA at WM XIX would love to talk to you(Angle/Lesnar closed out the show and I don't think you'd say they were bigger stars than Rock and Austin were). Taker/Punk should close out the show because of the build. Rock/Cena will close out the show because they're the bigger names.

The main event of Wrestlemania should be the match you can put on posters and commercials and generate the most interest.

I love the forum...but a bunch of dudes sitting First Row for the biggest show of the year aren't indicative of the viewing audience as a whole. People care about Rock and Cena because they're Rock and Cena. The build hasn't been spectacular, but Cena's generation of fans and Rock's generation of fans are so invested in the guys that it'll still be the big match. People were going apeshyt for both guys last night and it'll be next level at Mania...again.

and honestly, the cheapest of cheap heat feud between UT and Punk hasn't been all that great to me either. It's had its moments - but it was an absolute lob and only makes Sunday's outcome more predictable. I'm definitely looking forward to the match, but I'm not going to shake my fist because its not going on last. It shouldn't.
