When literally over half the global population watched his fights, let alone the social impact? Dude literally negotiated for hostages to be released from Iran MJ could never do something like that in the Middle East, MJ could never compare to how Ali was viewed in Africa after the Rumble in the Jungle, Eastern Europe lived for Ali throughout communism, they couldn't listen to MJ that much, etc.
