Thriller had two number 1 singles (Beat It and Billie Jean) Speakerboxxx/Love Below had two number 1 singles (Hey Ya & The Way You Move)

Thriller topped the Village Voice’s Pazz and Jop poll of 1983. Speakerboxx/Love Below topped the exact same list in 2003.

Thriller was MJ’s first number 1 album as a solo artist. Speakerboxx/Love Below was Outkast’s first number 1 album.

Michael Jackson was only the second Black pop artist to win the Grammy for AOTY in 1984. Outkast became only the second (and to date last) Hip Hop artists to win the Grammy for AOTY in 2004




The fact that this album isn’t includes in the poll is criminal.

And you hear Hey Ya and the way you move on the radio today with Hall and Oates and them. Yep. You have to mention this album like it or not.

The reason I didn’t include the album is because it was released posthumously. Puffy/Bad Boy ran 97 with multiple hit singles from No Way out
