I don't know which player is equivalent but I'm wondering if who the player is would have the same effect. Imagine if LeBron or Curry were the ones that did this. Would the league have that much uproar over one of their golden goose protesting? I'm sure neither one of them would have trouble joining a team if their own let them go. Even in the nfl, you think Brady or Rodgers would be dropped if they did this? Owners care about winning and making money and they know that barely any teams make as much money when they're losing. What was the 49ers record? 3rd or 4th I believe.

Yal acting like the extent of these guys' entire persona is what you see on the court. Even Tyrus Thomas, fukking idiot on the court and choked out by Paul Silas, made massive contributions to his hometown and the areas effected by Hurricane Katrina. People want to act like the NBA and NFL are on the same page with this stuff is really.... Its just disingenuous. There are little obvious things like they both serve alcohol at games - but you don't have security teams in the NBA told to pretty much stand by and allow it for the "fan experience" or whatever the NFL likes. The NFL likes to say that its against domestic abuse with massive ad campaigns that are aimed at bringing in female viewers, then looks the other way whenever it can. The NBA? They took a huge hit for their anti-gun violence ad campaign with the mothers of dead kids all up in the TV on during primetime holiday games.

I don't think the NBA is perfect, but its definitely a far cry from the standard the NFL has set.

I don't even think there's a real 1:1 comparison for Kaepernick. Wade's family member gets killed and he's not berrated for mentioning it an interview. Any football telecast? GUARANTEED there's an angry cac yelling "Just talk about the game! This isn't the place for that". shyt, that kind of talk is exactly why Sage Steele's c00n ass got pulled off the air. LBJ's home was vandalized during the finals and the NBA was more than willing to say its flatout wrong and that James is a strong person for dealing with it the way that he did - they didn't treat it like.... well, the typical "fans are just fans, you get paid big bucks - this is the price of success. suck it up".

Like.... I guess if I could name anyone, it'd be some of the black coaches that got raw deals. (Not Mark Jackson. He fukking sucked. Don't even start :mjlol:) But its not because of a stance they made, its because its just still America and blacks don't get to just be 'average' and successful. Vinny Del Negro will get a call before Larry Drew does.

I just can't see the NBA saying fukk this random player forever because of a social stance they took. More times than not, they'll support it - which leads to players not really choosing to make a statement through the flag. Its not their only option to make an impact or to be given a platform. In the NFL? You gotta force their hand for everything.

I don't think it would get to that point in the NBA with to many vocal black players, coaches and owners. Guys like LeBron James, Magic Johnson, Steph Curry would speak up. The team itself will be boycotted by the fans in this sport. Football on the other hand is different.

These new nikkas in the NBA ain't finna do a damn thing. They're too concerned about hurting their "brand".
A lot of the "brand" of these guys is social work.

NFL will pass around a human interest piece segment on Sunday's before a game but they'd NEVER offer long-term support to a guy like Caron Butler the way that the NBA has.

That's the primary difference in my opinion. In the NFL, the flag was the outlet and it was an unprecedented insult to their idea of control and what is/isn't acceptable. NBA players don't feel the need to say that they're being prevented from taking a stance. Even if they did, there wouldn't be such a storm of kickback from the organization that would further strengthen or validate that stance.

Christ
Dysfunction with assistant coaches mainly Brian Scalabrine, disagreements with front office, lied on Festus Ezeli which started dysfunction within team.
So his outward ministering of Christ in his lockerrom and on street corners didn't have a negative effect on his coaching status? I thought that was the main reason. Also, what did he lie on Festus about? I vaguely remember.
