to be honest, i never gave 9th a chance cause for some reason i was never feeling the sound of his drums back then. i keep hearing they improved and i even vaguely remember hearing a newer beat from him and thinking9th was a monster. It's funny because I think 9th is sort of doing his best work right now, but you gotta be pretty plugged into him and his label to hear it. He's not doing much work outside of his camp. Dude is a professor at Duke and Harvard, and I don't think you're gonna hear much 9th Wonder outside of the Jamla crew unless it's a full album with someone that he connects with. He's like Alchemist in that he's no longer looking for placements on big albums anymore.
9th also reminds me a lot of Pete and Preem because he never changed his style for anyone, and he stays in his lane, which makes him loved and hated depending on who you're talking to. Personally, I can't listen to 9th Wonder and not nod my head.
but i never seeked his newer stuff just out of habit.Add nueve wondera to the conversation and contribbute breh....!Impossible to have this conversation and not add 9th wonder
I almost got insulted breh. Lol. Then I realized that was a 9th sample you were quoting. Lol.Add nueve wondera to the conversation and contribbute breh....!
You better stop and think about what you doing
9th and Dillmatic both got busy with that sampleI almost got insulted breh. Lol. Then I realized that was a 9th sample you were quoting. Lol.
they did the same with 'Dollars Circulate' although 9ths version was much better9th is a legend, my only gripe with him is that he stuck to a template for so long. Still, his original run of Listening, God's Stepson, Minstrel Show, 3:16 was insanityImpossible to have this conversation and not add 9th wonder
Also NO IDBink! deserves a nod. Even if he gets a bit overrated on here, he killed all of his beats pretty much. He never did a full project or more than a few tracks a year, but the level of production value in his shyt is crazy. He's able to maintain the dustiness and grittiness of the sample, add in live drums, and still maintain a hi-fi mix

Kanye loop the hell out of samples though...kanye, rza. flipping is literally doing mad shyt to it not just speeding it up and being lazy. like these 2 nikkas chop the fukk out of samples and put em to make it sound like its only sped up. nikkas is gods man forreal.
