One album was produced by Devante Swing, who was arguably the most influential R&B producer of the 90s, whilst the other was produced by his protege in Timbaland whose influence on pop culture in the 00s was simply undeniable.

Both these albums influence on R&B production was profound, with "Diary of a Mad Band" being arguably more immediate, while still influencing some of today's R&B artists such Bryson Tiller (and his T R A P S O U L album) and Terrace Martin (and his 3ChordFold album).

While on the other hand, "The Bachelor"'s influence can be heard moreso in the work and production of today's two biggest artists in The Weeknd (House of Balloons and Thursday) and Drake (Take Care).

Tough choice, but which albums production do you prefer?

this is a tough one. Because to me, it depends on whose production sound you like better. Devante or Timbo. you could take any jodeci album vs any Timbaland album and it would still be a tough choice. Now for me, I am going with Ginuwine. To me the production stands out more and actually carries more of the album. with diary of a mind band, it's more 50 50 meaning vocals and production. and thats not taking anything away from Ginuwine.

Gotta go with jodeci on this one breh
anyone saying otherwise is just younger. thats it and thats all. No one in their right mind that was old enough to take in that jodeci album thinks any R&B album was better produced. hands down probably the best R&B(once R&B became hiphopish) produced album ever was that jodeci album.

This doesn't even make sense. I could see if these albums were a decade a part, but they aren't. These albums are just 3.5 years a part, so this isn't even a generational thing. The Bachelor, IMO, is just a better produced album from the whole theme of the album down to how it sounds sonically. Even the interludes knocked.
