Which race makes the worst/ most dishonest mechanics

For me in my experience it’s white American by far

all they do is upsell and they never fix the problem the first time you bring it to them

They gonna misdiagnose atleast twice. More than likely on purpose

I’m glad alot of them are starting to fail

Damn breh.......I inherently distrust all mechanics, but I grew up with shade tree mechanics before I knew about anything so I find I misjudged alot of them........with that said, as I became aware of the true scummy nature of the business all the faces were NOT black.........

I’ve never been to a general mechanic, I’ve always dealt with the dealership.

But it’s always a young white dude behind the counter telling me why fixing this $200 part is going to cost me $2500

So yeah…I’ll go with them

I stopped fukking with independent mechanics only mess with the dealership one now.

They are way more expensive, but i've found that they have a vested interest in their customer trusting the reliability of their vehicles, because they want you to come back and buy more of their brand from them. So they are not going to lie and tell you something is broken when its not. Makes their product look bad. and they could potentially garner a bad rep for their reliability and lose business.

all them other ones are super motivated to lie imo.

The least “dishonest” are Black mechanics. Black mechanics typically won’t screw you over.

The trade off in going to a Black mechanic, however, is the Black shops are often under equipped making them unable to do the more complicated repairs- which then forces you to go to the bigger shops(white boys), with bigger equipment and spend your money there.


And the catch 22 with THAT, is you go to the white shops because they have the equipment/manpower to do the job in a timely manner, except what you end up with is more mechanical problems than what you came in with because they done did some shady sh!t under the hood.

Mechanics will most of the time be dishonest towards women more than men, because they’ll assume most of y’all don’t have any real car knowledge.

That’s why I’ve always accompanied my lady relatives to the mechanics because they know not to try that BS with me around.

The mechanic I work with now is through my work. We literally had to go through 10 different mechanics. All races were terrible. The 2 we work with now are an Indian & Hispanic.

The Indian guy tried it once but he corrected his shyt before he lost a customer. The Hispanic guy is A1 but our major mechanic before him was also Hispanic and he was using parts from our vehicles to fix other vehicles but then charging us for new parts. A real piece of shyt.
