lil boosie kinda qualifies. he was practically neck-n-neck with gucci for the south crown right before he got booked. granted, the murder trial and all that solidied his legend but he didnt get paid off that.

hell the whole state property was hindered by jay, but at the same time boosted by dame. so thats a tough one. peedi crakk cant complain tho.

Mos Def. on the blackstar album he was way doper than Kweli. his solo debut (Black on Both Sides) was dope. if he woulda stuck to rapping rather than acting and all the other shyt he did, he'd be up there with Hov as the top lyricist of the last 15 years.

Up there with Hov? Why is that the first dude you thought of? Nas? Scarface? And the list goes on..money is a factor to fans.

yeah, Memphis Bleek could been doing much better.
I always thought Bleek had the illest flow of all songs on Reasonable Doubt with the Coming Of Age song.
