I chose 50 cent personally.

As far as lyrics, commercial success, mixtapes/freestyles, features and hooks 50 was on a serious roll from 50 Cent is the Future to Get rich to the Massacre to the Soundtrack.

the G-Unit movement was the closest thing to Wu-Tang's since then. Clothing, nikkas in the playground saying G_G_G_G_G_G UNIT!. People wearing bullet proof vests for fun. Etc etc.

From this comprehensive standpoint, I'd say 2Pac 2nd and Eminem 3rd. Then Lil Wayne

You have a point. Nas peaked early. His best album was his first.
pretty much...thats before my time and although I understand he was bubbling under the surface for a bit the trajectory of his career was too terrible.

And none of his albums were really that successful.

Nas is one of the best ever but most of the people on this list didn't have their best albums until their 2nd or 3rd.

It's either between Nas and Eminem

I'm going Em just because of what he did to multisyllable rhymes, although on another day it could be Nas

maintenance of skills? probably Rakim, shyt I thought he sounded great on 18th Letter after 5 years away and removed from his prime. it was effortless

musically, yea Nas gets picked on for his beat selection but a lot of his A and B material still resonates with me. he is my alltime fav and I grew up with his music so im biased. Prodigy and Big would be right there
