The true answer is a combination of many factors. One is himself, the quality of his music declined drastically and he lost a lot of fans and also his attitude became off putting to many. All the unnecessary beefin alienated himself, was talking shyt regularly and just acting like an an arrogant a$$hole. And most people don't like that. Beefin with Nas, Jadakiss and to a lesser extent Fat Joe damaged his rep with Hip Hop heads. Nas and Jada are very well respected and disisng them for no reason in a weak way wasn't poppin. Game did some serious damage with the whole G U Not thing, he got that popular and he created a backlash against 50. When 50 couldn't stop Ross though he tried that made him look weak and fail, when Kanye beat him after the shyt talking it made him look weak and fail. If the question is an artist and you can't name him I'd say Game did a lot of damage, Ross kind of put the nail in the coffin though.

Kanye for sure. He ushered in the baby shyt soft era which pretty much put killed 50's bully aura. Once Ye set off the gay era it was over.

50 did it to himself...

I came in here to say what you said....its his own fault. I mainly blame his beefs starting with Ja and continuing....the beef's pigeon-holed him. especially when he started going at anybody who was affilated with Ja in some form. he blew up off of controversy...once the controversy was gone..so was the mystique.

plus his crew members couldnt hold their own. only Game because he repped the West. Yayo was always garbage....Buck...played himself too much...and Banks just seemed to get too comfortable too soon. if 50 had established some bonafied artists...he'd still be on top.

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
I stopped giving a shyt about 50 after he dropped The Massacre which was one of the most disappointing follow ups ever. IMO it was losing the sales battle to Kanye. 50 became annoying after that.

That's a good point 50 never really had a solid crew member to support him. Like you said yayo always garbage and buck/banks went play once each off 50s buzz but 2nd time around failed to even go gold. Game would have been it.

50 did it to himself...

correct answer here,..

when fiddy jumped the gun and went away from the dr dre lead single on the massacre.
[which should have been outta control].
to make himself a lead rnb collabo based artist.
he ruined his draw, just like nelly did on sweat/suit.
by going from a inhouse solo artist melody based medium to a rnb feature artist with kelly rowland.
you never do that when you have a dr dre based sales model and melody based formula that drew as much as that.
when, fiddy made himself into a rnb feature lead single artist.
he put himself into the barely go five platinum domestic sales artist.
so, other artist who had similiar sales such as him, like game.
saw, they could compete with his overall domestic sales.
they simply could attack him and it had relevent staying power.
since fiddy was based on the mca jiggy mase sales model.
which was based around gloating about sales.
once, that happened and the initial draw from dre wore off.
it left him to being marginalized, and exposed he was nuffin more than a dr dre lead single artist.
instead of getting more props as the mixtape king.
also,..the interscope movie draw, which always lessens your appeal and draw.
as it tries to protect, the artist from internal destruction of their draw from oversaturation.
drew back, his permeation and self promotion.
so, it made him look like he was inactive.
when he was the mixtape king who was always active.
so, it made diss records seem as though they were more effective than they were before.

once, fiddy started to be active again.
plus, had ruined his own draw by changing the dre lead single and pr run.

it was all down hill and destruction of his own draw.
which also,...looked worse because the one thing that made him look powerful in the marketplace.
activity and the dre single were no longer part of his draw.

since, fiddy never had the real lyrical prowess to really protect himself.
once, that aura of the dre formula was lost...
it just spiraled out of control and fiddy became an artist who was the victim of the destruction of his draw.

plus susceptible to disses having more potency.
since, fiddy had no way to rebound and have relevent superstar sales on the same plane as what brought him prominence in the dance.
