Most the folks y'all naming still around and can get some $ even though not as much as they saw before. Worst I can think of is Max B. Dude was gaining real momentum and had a movement about to elevate then ended it with some dumb shyt. 75 years is the worst downfall I can think of.

Not saying you're wrong but it feels like his "momentum" was purely on the internet/parts of the eastcoast and mostly from the hype he got during the controversy of gettin locked up/dissing Jim Jones etc. But people really talking like he was big in the game. Seems like a re-written history imo.

Im not saying im 100% right, so dont get it wrong, but all of a sudden everybody became a "Max B" stan on the internet.

I was familiar with Max B from 2005-06 when he was down with Dipset. I wasnt big on Dipset but he had hooks & features i liked. Thats it tho. After that jail shyt and all u watch online and people talking like dude was on some Snoop/DMX/2pac or whatever shyt. He was a cool song maker but not more than that.

I believe its mostly just an internet hype thing.

Btw, this question of "falling off" has always been conflicted as far as i know.

half consider "falling off" when you lose popularity/momentum - for whatever reason, while the other half consider "falling off" when your
shyt isnt as dope (to them) anymore.

Of course it means both but when you talk with hip-hop fans they all seem to have different perspectives on it.

50 Cent
Lil Flip
Eminem
DMX

I went from being a huge fan of all these guys for years to almost being embarrassed I even listened to them. All 4 simply seemed to forget exactly what made them good appealing artists in the first place. DMX was the only one to let drugs completely derail his career though. The other 3 either fell off due to declining flow/delivery, forgetting how to pick good beats, or both

Not sure if "downfall" really applies, but Prodigy had the worst fall-off imaginable from a quality standpoint. He was among the best rappers, many would argue the greatest from 95-99, dropped a seminal GOAT album in the Infamous, followed it up with an even darker classic in Hell on Earth, then managed to expand his fanbase without selling out on Murda Muzik, which is an arguable classic. There were signs of a fall off on some of the songs recorded at the last minute for MM, then more pronounced signs of a fall off on his solo album HNIC, but the verses on Infamy were just putrid :trash:
:mjcry:
He bounced back with ALC on Return of the Mac though :blessed:

I was bout to make the same post. It damn near saddens me to listen to P since Murda Muzik.

The obvious choices were already mentioned several times in here.

Although I'm shocked Mike Jones and Lil Flip weren't mentioned

Jones cuz he was doing fine hits and all till Trae socked him, then it was downhill from there. Along with that Lil Wayne destroyed his hopes of a comeback by murdering that Mr. Jones beat. nikkas forgot the OG song even existed :mjlol:

Lil Flip cuz TI ate him up for no fukking reason and pretty much used him as a stepping stone :mjlol:
