I remember af1 being rocked heavy b4 the song.

After the songs it became cooler to rock em.
And they were talked about more.

Chucks were alright, but they were not on af1 level.

From what I seen.

He must have doubled them out there. In present day they’re $90 so if y’all was paying $100 for AF1’s in the mid-00’s that’s crazy.

I remember I used to buy a white and black pair, whites for the summertime and black to match my school uniform as a kid it was no more than $75 for them.

No hate to St. Louis it’s just that NY and other cities was already rocking ‘em. The shoe been out since the early 80’s ballers like Moses Malone used to wear them.

:russ:Y'all do this shyt on purpose. Wearing them first and making them famous are two different things.

The point of contention has been who made them famous.

Baltimore introduced NY to them by the way, so there's that "first".

But there's a clear delineation in popularity of the shoe before and after when talking about the song Air Force Ones.

Do you not know how big that song was? How big that album was? It knocked MMLP out the #1 Billboard spot.

The single dropped in November, the holiday season Nike couldn't keep the shelves stocked.

Wallabees. That's the shoe New York chose to push. Y'all biggest group, the media capital of the world.

Y'all got behind Wallabees, wear those.
U already said Harlem put him on game.

Other cities was already rocking them was already a staple. It’s not just New York. It’s Philly, Baltimore, Detroit, Chicago that was already wearing them. Jeezy came out with an AF1 song too.

The only thing you can say is Nelly made it extra extra trendy or got cacs and suburbanites to wear them. The shoe was already hot before him that’s no doubt.

The world is bigger than the eastcoast.

"extra extra trendy" is downplaying it, dare I say, some hater speak.

We gave Harlem credit, we're just saying we brought it to the rest of the world.

There was an obvious explosion in popularity following that song.

Aint Chucks like the main go to kicks for Cali?

Think Dave Chappelle did a documentary on Cali cats getting into beefs over stepping on Chucks.
