I just know who can sing their ass off and they all come from the church

there's mad sangers but for me i am not caught up in the technical.........i find that the artist who folks down for having weak voices seem to make the most easy on the ears music

the artist who can really belt tend to do to much & i end up laughing at all the vocal acrobatics even though they may be impressive technically

the sangers also break down vocally shredded bloody vocal cords & surgery scars on the schedule it gets rough

Wow. now that's a fascinating topic..

Whitney is the greatest vocalist ever hands down IMO so they're on point, but I do believe there are very few others just a notch or 2 below her

1) Mariah Carey in her prime.

2) Will Downing

3) Phyllis Hyman

There are other singers that are obviously great like Shirley Murdock, Brian Mcknight, but they have that gospel church rawness though, not that classically trained type voice if that makes sense.
