You know, the state that’s shaped like a glizzy that gave the world The Wire and Sugar Ray Leonard and is home to Air Force One and the Naval Academy

Delaware will voluntarily join us but VA ain’t about to just sit across the river looking pretty with all them resources, bases, and suitable population size. They finna become part of our shared prosperity too Annapolis is an okay-ish Naval port but we’d need to acquire Norfolk and Newport News to go beyond a brown water fleet and into blue water territory, especially with them 3-5 aircraft carriers based down there. We got Andrew’s Air Base but nothing wrong with obtaining more bases from VA. Maryland (excuse me, Murrland) would definitely become a major threat with that many Army and Air bases after bringing Virginia and Delaware into the fold in addition to a few Navy bases. DC would initially wanna remain independent but they would definitely get the “either get down or lay down” message when they see the Greater Murrland Prosperity Alliance Holy Army pull up around the city at the crack of dawn

Long-term expansion goals? North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania will either voluntarily ally or be “coerced” into submitting their sovereignty over to the Greater Murrland Prosperity Alliance’s sphere of influence with me as the country’s first Head Sovereign Murr Caliph in the name of Allat-Allah

East Coast, especially the Mid-Atlantic would be the most fun to watch.

There's no Texas or Cali that sucks up all the people and resources so the states appear more equal. Strategy and making the right moves matter a lot.

DMV area would be a threat to everyone, especially east of the Mississippi. Then they could sit back and watch Cali and Texas destroy each other.

Gotta go with Florida...by land, sealing off the panhandle should suffice. There’s enough people who own boats to get create a makeshift Navy. There’s also enough gun owners and places where a person has to be from there to navigate. There are so many bogs and swamps and back roads .... annddd beautiful cities but I don’t think that’s where Florida would excel

If all else fails, we can just slowly migrate to Mars via Port Canaveral

i'm working under the assumption that individual states remain united for the sake of the premise.
if you start throwing in states splitting up then it quickly becomes impossible to do anything but wildly speculate and i personally refuse to engage in such frivolous conversation.

that being said, The Bronx being the only borough connected to the continental U.S. would put it in a position of power.
The Bronx would quickly subjugate the other boroughs, uniting them as they press into Yonkers, Beer Mountain, Rye...
