As an aside, how great is the internet brehs? It's so hard to be a two faced politician in this age of information.

This is such an underrated aspect of society. Regardless of the BS youtube conspiracy theorist, there is so much GOOD and VALUABLE information out there from CREDIBLE sources. You're always an email or blog away from a reputable professor from a major university.

I mean, I got into arguing on the internet about social issues around 2005. For me, I've never entered an argument without being able to copy and paste a link, or quote a source. To think that generations before us would fall back on their opinions, feelings, or random newspaper article is absolutely atrocious. I mean, they ain't even start fact checking presidential candidates until debate 2 of the 2012 Presidential election

It's amazing to me that folks used to, and still, go to the polls without fact checking a politician. It's a completely mind boggling series of events.

Despite 08 being a blowout, 16% of McCain voters said they'd have supported Clinton if she was the nominee according to exit polls. Clinton might have done a lot of good if she had actively sought to bring her base around to Obama. Hell if she had done that maybe Al Franken doesn't spend a year fighting a recount and the democrats can use their supermajority.

Don't say "our" community. No one from "my" community is this stupid. She was relaying a ridiculous theory at the time about the rise of the superpredator. That same mentality led to harsh drug laws and white support for racial profiling. I'm just happy this election has shown the difference between true progressives and republicans who are just socially liberal.

This democratic election is between a New Deal Democrat and a New "Clinton" Democrat. The latter has all the power and the size of baby boomers and those that came just after. But the former is the future and will only become more liberal and more middle fingers up to the Democratic establishment. Do you realize how angry people have to be to allow a dude who is an independent get this far?
