The only Scammy thing is if you're in the market and they hear your accent they will charge you more. Beside that the vibe is great. Best weather in Africa, rains in the morning sunny all day with a cool breeze. Very cheap and affordable. I pay 250 a month for a 4 BDRM house by the beach . Women are beautiful and thick. Your money stretches the avg Ugandan makes like 250 a month so you can live like a king out here.
Roads aren't the greatest , and traffic can sometimes be draining that's about it negative wise . Jobs suck but I work remote but I'd totally live here for ever if I could.
Also Uganda accepts the most refugees out of any African country so there are tons of Sudanese, Eritreans, Ethiopians.
Safety wise only thing you have to worry about is if you have your phone out someone may snatch it. That's about it .
Also the only place in the world as well with Rwanda where you can see gorillas in the wild
