ANT-MAN is definitely marvel b squad...he is a founding member of the avengers, has been in stories for decades upon decades, and has been key man for their biggest stories ever...don't try to sell him like "oh he's some sidekick guy" NAH, nice try.

Because it's fukking Ant-Man, the 12th (or whatever) movie in the Marvel live-action universe. GL is a much bigger name with a much bigger budget and was expected to kickoff the DC live-action universe.

I'm surprised Ant-Man did as good as it did considering Paul Rudd is the star. On the other hand, they hyped the fukked out of this movie, so maybe it should've done better.

Despite that he is a D/C level character, it was still a good ass movie and brings another comedic element to the Avengers, sets up more characters for Civil War/Infinity Guantlet, and also brings in Wasp and room for Marvel to make a sequel

I think the fact that Marvel put this out around a couple other popular movies without a huge character name/actors and wack trailers shows how confident they were in the movie.. And it still was #1

thats the funny thing they made a good movie about antman the movie will have legs its getting good word of mouth and the reviews are good. these nikkas just made 50 mil off a D list character in no world is that a loss

No way in hell a movie called black panther will sell in this climate

Any-man was great......now if this movie does end up flopping.......what does that mean for, Strange, Captain Marvel, and Black Panther. Maybe Marvel just can't release anything regardless of how good the product is.

It doesn't mean anything. If this kind of stuff was enough to derail Marvel's plans they would've altered them after "The Incredible Hulk" underperformed back in '08.

I'm sure it would be ideal for Marvel if all their movies made a lot of money but the fact of the matter is all these solo movies are building towards the Thanos arc. And you can't have Thanos fighting 5 guys....you can't do Civil War with the same core Avengers....you gotta build towards that. And I don't think anybody in their right mind thinks "Infinity War" is going to flop, so this is just an investment towards that.

This is 100% correct. Marvel sold the cinematic rights to X-Men, that's the sole reason we've even discussing an Ant-Man movie right now.

I hope cats aren't dumb enough to think we'd be getting a Guardians Of The Galaxy, Ant-Man, Captain Marvel, etc. movie if Marvel could use X-Men. They gotta use these C-D tier characters because their A tier is gone.
