On the plus side they didn't start out the gate doing nonlinear storytelling and unnecessary flashbacks/flashforwards in this episode but it also still feels like the same show as it has been.
There was nothing about this first episode that felt like a new showrunner was in charge. The energy was still exactly the same.

This show fell off a cliff last season
Even with negan it just got boring with way too many filler episodes that are irrelevant
They seem nowhere near an end point and are gonna milk this show til it dies unfortunately

Everything went downhill after the episode that featured just Tara. She had no business being given a full episode focused on her.
The show is still one of the best series on television though. I’m glad that they finally wrapped up the All Out War storyline.
