White bible college steals a Black woman's song. They go viral for their "version" of the stolen song. The original creator on their necks.

:dwillhuh: Christians share songs all the time. What purpose does it serve to discredit or offend the original composer?

Imagine going out of your way to be a cracker in the name of Jesus :mjlol:

:dead:

Thats the entire reason they coopted Christianity. Everything has to be something to weaponize or monetize for many of them as a culture.

Are they selling the song?

Should we not be singing Amazing Grace?

Another shining example of good Christian values 😉

│ I’m fukking gobsmacked by the hundreds of comments saying things like “The only person who can claim this song belongs to him is GOD” and “This lawsuit is because the devil is worried this song is too powerful against him!” There are some, but not enough comments from people saying “Look, I’m a Christian, but you guys need to understand this is theft and a very real legal issue.”

Amazing grace is almost 250 years old and is a public domain song.
And I’d bet my life people from all walks of life have been singing that song in churches for 250 years not giving a damn who wrote it or what they think they’re owed for the inspiration.
