So, open carry legal in Utah but the protestor was arrested.
Also, this phrasing seem odd “Protestor brandishing weapons AT the Demonstrators”. Wouldnt protestor be considered demonstrators? Why would he point it at his own team. I hope there’s video of the situation.
The “Peace” keeper seem like he could have been trigger happy.

Considering he was pointing the rifle and all the shyt that's been poppin off lately, a lot of people wouldn't have taken that chance.

Possibly...but because the shooter is white and it's Utah, this might be a CYA situation.
Similar to how cops "perceive" a threat that's not actually a threat. Would they have jumped as quickly on a white man with a rifle? Maybe.
Counter Protestors and peace keepers with guns are usually the ones that cause violence at these protest.

He got hit but they killed the Samoan guy, and they said dude ran into the crowd but the guy in the story who pointed him out said the gun was in the bag.
He was with the group for a min too and didn’t shoot, so idk. I think there was something else that maybe could’ve been done than shooting buddy in a crowd but idk. That case is going to be interesting

If the weapon was recovered, as the article states, and is traced to him by prints or paperwork, he brought it there with evil intentions.
Cant knock people for being skeptical until/unless video of the incident is released, though.
Living where I do, I'm used to public surveillance videos of everything and tough gun laws. So, I have a hard time processing stories about weapons being carried in public, and footage not being released right away.
On face value, they prevented a mass shooting.
