The dad could pass tomorrow, and honestly the white kid could too. It's not far fetched to believe or assume one day in a fit of anger he's gonna use the word or that one day he and his black friend won't be friends.
From an empowerment standpoint we don't need to be focused or concerned about them, they don't need our respect or praises for whatever they do good or bad.
We need to focus on ourselves and control our own narratives. I know it seems like I'm coming down on the breh and I am. I'm genuinely concerned what's going to happen the next time in his life someone refers to him like the step dad did. Will he give them a pass? Will he expect someone to come to his aid or defense?
