Wanna know whats funny? Alot of Haitians descend from slave-trading African kingdoms so alot of our cousins back home were DEEP in the slave trade around the early 19th century and all of our cousins in the "new world" were still on the plantation so we had zero allies besides the abolitionists in Great Britain.
And we gotta add context.....
The AFRICAN rulers DID NOT agree to paying reparations.... Dessalines & Christophe had troops ready all over the country READY FOR WAR and had shooters on every corner of the island and the French did NOT COME BACK UNTIL ALL THE AFRICAN KINGS WERE DEAD.
Dessalines died in 1806
Christophe (the final remaining African revolutionary ruler) died in 1820.
The
MULATTO Jean-Pierre Boyer came to power in
1822
Boyer was born in Port-au-Prince and was the biracial son of a French tailor and an African mother, a former slave from Congo.[2] He was sent to France by his father to become educated.
He agreed to pay in
1825 like the mulatto bytch he was... France waited 20+ years until everyone was dead and the island was under mulatto rulership.... The island was under African rulership and ready for war for 20+ years after independence.
Context is important.... Black men did not agree to paying reparations..... The white man's children agreed to pay their fathers because many of them were raised & educated in France and had connections to the "mother country"
