Nah it is a racism thing and always has been. People oike you that want to pretend its not make the problem worse. Especially when statistics prove the opposite.
There are more black people in prison then there were slaves in America.
Black men and women are incarcerated at greater rates then other races.
Killed by police disportionately.
I really can't stand this post-racial deflection as if it isn't valid and we don't have centuries of evidence to prove on the contrary.
If you read what I said I never said racism wasn't a factor, I said its not THE factor.
The police state is the problem and yes it does disproportionately effect black americans and those on the bottom rung economically, in society, but if you can take down the police state we will improve.
The biggest reason for the explosion of black people in prison is the war on drugs, instead of crying about how unfair sentences are for white and black drug users (talking complaining about symptom), I'm saying we should attack the source of the problem. We need to end the war on drugs completely.
Instead of saying blacks get killed by police out of proportion (a symptom), I'm saying we need to attack the structure that encourages police to kill any citizen as long as they "feel" threatened, but not actually have to show reasonable cause. I'm talking about attacking the system that has police sending out swat teams to serve arrest warrents for non-violent, non hostage holding offenders of the law.
The fact that you took what I said and morphed it into me saying we are "post racial" has more to do with you projecting your own thoughts to whoever doesn't agree with you and showing me you have poor ability to read and comprehend the english language, because not once have I said racism in the US does not exist, and the post you quoted acknowledges racism.
