please watch the whole video and share your thoughts

:whoa: not trying to say this cheapens any bad interactions black folks have had with cops, just think its interesting how it was portrayed in the news before the body camera footage was released. its another good argument for why ALL police in ALL departments should be equipped with a body cam whenever on duty. one that they cant turn off preferably.

Not sure how I feel about this. On one hand the cop has the burglary response on his side but on the other I think the reaction may have been over the top considering the two children present. At least this situation ended with no one getting physically hurt. This takes me back to what that cop on the combat jack show was stating in that the police don't seem to know/want to diffuse situations when it comes to blacks they just escalate them which is in part a reflection of poor training and in some cases racism.

the officer actually wasnt bad. he even apologized twice and didnt actually pull out his gun. once he identified the off duty firefighter he let them go and explained why he did that. the firefighter actually said "its cool i understand". but when the media got involved, see how the firefighter's story changed?

How do you know he didn't pull a gun? I couldn't tell much from the video because of the low lighting.

the firefighter himself in the beginning describes how he was standing. he says he had his hand on his gun and showed how by putting his arms back on imaginary holster.

Ah I see, watched the video again. So the news channel did a little sensationalizing saying he pulled his gun.

yea the media loves to pit races against one another for ratings, but the firefighter added to it with his exaggerated account. if he really felt like it was based on skin color, why did he accept the officer's apology and then say "its alright".

the officer was pretty tame compared to what we usually see happen out there.
