I prefer utilizing both intellectual and emotional appeals depending on the tone of the conversation and what is said.

If I see someone just being ignorant and think intellectually dismantling them is a better approach and simply making the person look stupid and without a retort, I do that.

However, if someone is being hateful, no reason to turn the cheek. They don't respond to that. Returning fire is the best option. These people do not care to "understand" or "sympathize' so intellectual appeals don't work because these people don't even view you as an equal human being in the first place. Useless exercise and this is when you start punching mouth.

I think every black person needs to keep in mind, that depending on the circumstance, every option and tactic needs to be utilized. Including as what you call hate, to beat back people with vitriol and possibly if things are bad enough, with physical actions too.

Like I said, people like you try to limit the actions of only one side by acting they are the only side guilty of hypocrisy and therefore only that side needs to fix their hypocrisy and "be above it".

You in turn, make these people weak in resolve and only more vulnerable to those who don't give a fukk. This mentality needs to go away. Especially after Jan 20th and literal racists like Steve Bannon and Jeff Sessions take the white house.

I donate to certain organizations who I think will put up a fight. I have donated approximately 500+ dollars to certain organizations already. I also confront individuals when it happens verbally.

Sadly since this is only now coming to light, the DOJ Civil Rights Division is now preparing an investigation. Given the DOJ is going to be led by a literal racist next month, this type of stuff will happen even more often, this particular investigation will be swept under the rug, and we will see the racists in this country feel more invulnerable and emboldened.
