To be honest, a lot of criminals of all colors get off light compared the average person on live PD for two obvious reasons. It's a television show and the cameras helps reduce cops worst instincts.
Secondly, and this is the most important one, Live PD is pro cop propaganda in the post BLM age. Meaning, I remember reading the TV guide information and the description was in the vein of "in this age of increasing tensions between the public and police, we want to give you an on the street look of police work to show you what it is really like". The police are trying silence and combat the perception of rough thugs and instead I notice these happen to the most polite and friendly police officers on the planet. Even more, I notice officers are especially polite to black suspects on the show when we know in real life they are anything but. Not that it's a bad thing but you can reasonably doubt the sincerity and realize there is conscious manipulation occurring.
So, now when you say that police treat black people like shyt and giving black folks a hard time, the gullible and ignorant can just go back and remember what they saw on Live PD and dismiss your complaints. It's propaganda. I like the show but as entertainment. Always remember it's propaganda.
