They either fit one of the two categories
1. Corny hipsters who spent most of the 90s watching Daria and listening to Alainis Morisette only to later stumble a bunch of old school rap in the mid to late 2000s only to then immediately start acting knowledgable about it like they lived through it's 1980s-1990s peak....or as if they grew up with it...always unintentionally exposing themselves at how new they are to the genre by saying dumb shyt like revisionist historian quotes and shyt...the ones that ride Wu Tang Clan's dikk but never cant memorize any of th individual member's B-sides or the ones who ride Big L so hard but dont know what DITC is
2. The ones that fetishize "ignorant" rappers, saying corny shyt like "Has Obama spoke on Gucci's release yet" or those cornballs who write scientific editorials on mumbling rappers acting like they're lyrical geniuses or some shyt. Its almost like they do it in a manner thats supposed to be condescending making fun of black folks but they hide their intentions so well. Not to mention those white folks who kept gassing Retch's ignorance on IG but none of them planned to help put money on his books when he finally got locked up
then you have the ones who aren't cringeworthy and actually respect and genuinely love the culture. Michael Rappaport, the white girl who helped discovered Nas, Wendy Day, etc. they're rare though
