WASHINGTON, DC
Call our friends in Riyadh and tell them to keep pumping so oil stays below $50 bbl for another few years and Russia will be starving.

Oil went to $30 in January when international sanctions on Iran were lifted

And OPEC just agreed to a production cut so oil is going to stay where its at, probably wont go above $60-65

:patrice:Looks like they're setting up Trump to have to come out as pro Russian in spite of clear Russian fuccery against us.

He can, but now he looks weak in doing so.

He campaigned on "MAGA", but is tucking his shyt inbetween his legs for his buddy Putin:francis:

Yes he could, but he would look like a Russian puppet if he did. Obama has Trump boxed in on this one.

He probably will but the political fall out will be quite a spectacle

At first glance this looks like a shrewd move by Obama to box in both Trump and Russia but lets think about it for a second.

Trump and Putin want peace with each other. If their administrations are successful, there's some mutual benefit. If Trump could strike a major bilateral accord with Putin, it would probably be seen as one of the great peace deals since the end of the Cold War. Trump could hang his hat on a major foreign policy accomplishment.

Obviously accords like that involve give and take. Trump can be like :manny: those sanctions were already in place. I'll take them off but only if you give us X when we're signing our big treaty that is going to make us all look great and hopefully ensure world peace. If he can pull it off, it could be yuuuge, bigly.

Remember, Russia isn't inherently evil. They're only "evil" because they don't bow to our every wish.

I don't see how any sitting president can let this slide in an attempt at peace down the road if one nation sought to insert itself in an American election.

You mean you don't see how these sanctions could be used as a chip for a larger peace deal? Why not?

Peace deals are all about give and take. You give up something to get something. These sanctions aren't even that big of a deal. They're more symbolic than anything.

In the Silver Lining
Its like im living in the twilight zone. I must've died sometime this year... When did Americans start defending Russia. What happened?:what:Anyone else get that memo?

It's not about defending Russia..it's about being purposefully ....*cough* misinformed about events and situations..

In 2003, a similar event and situation occurred where we were told Iraq had WMDs, and Dubya and the MSM made it seem ridiculous to "protect" Iraq. Yet, critics weren't "protecting" Iraq, they were looking/waiting to see validation to *cough*...preemptively engage a country that hasn't attacked the U.S. and there is no proof of any such weapons. They even had the U.N. inspectors go to these sites where the WMDs were supposedly located and the inspectors said there was nothing of concern at these sites. Yet, the U.S. still started a preemptive strike into the country, and within a few months.........no WMDs were found as was already shown.

So where is the proof Russia hacked anything, besides word of mouth?? We've already seen this siit show and it was mainly liberals complaining in 2003...now that a liberal is in office, the liberals want to trust but not verify. Very hypocritical and full of shiit stance. BHO said a document showing evidence of Russia hacking is coming out in January 2017...I guess we'll wait for the details

That's not what I'm saying. I agree with Russia being sanctioned. I agree that peace deals are a matter of give and take, but you generally broker peace deals with nations you are having armed conflicts with. That is not the case with Russia. They are clearly in the wrong here, that's like finding out some dude punched your momma in the face and then you go and say to him, "I know you punched my momma but I want peace...so what do I have to give up so that you don't punch her again?"

No leader worth his salt would ever agree to something like that. Hell, Russia still hasn't even fessed up to the fact that they did anything wrong.

I don't see war coming from this.

If you are worried about wars or attacks then you should hope Trump apologizes on banning muslims because that probably offended most countries in the middle east. Don't be surprised if they do something to the US once Trump is sworn in.
