Yeah the past year or so after the Alfred Wright investigation, I've noticed other commenters on news sites and message boards indicating East Texas has a reputation. I'm under the impression at least that East Texas shares a certain old school mentality more in common with it's bordering states. Those states being Mississippi, Louisiana, and Arkansas. The Alfred Wright situation wasn't that far away from Jasper, Texas, which is where the James Byrd dragging took place, also in East Texas.
