Ain't no "democracy" when the only time your opinion matters is once every few years and even then the people you vote for can choose to ignore everything they promised to do because you have no legal means of recalling them or forcing them to resign for doing a shytty job. Being a politician in this country is one of the few positions where you're allowed to fail upwards and have nobody who will hold you accountable for conning them or doing a bad job.
