Iowa City man accused of using blowtorch in burglary

Police say an Iowa City man used a blowtorch to commit 2 burglaries in an industrial part of town.

30-year-old Brent Lothridge is charged with 2 counts of felony theft and 2 aggravated misdemeanors.

Police say Lothridge entered a construction site in the 2800 block of Independence Road, just off Highway 6 on the southeast edge of Iowa City.

They say he used a blowtorch to cut into a tool chest, and stole $7,500 dollars worth of tools.

Investigators say surveillance video showed Lothridge inside the Habitat for Humanity ReStore at 2401 Scott Boulevard SE.

They say he used a blowtorch to cut into a donation lock box that held only $5, but caused $560 worth of damage.

Six-hour standoff ends with arrest of Nampa man

A Nampa man is in custody after police say he led officers on a chase before barricading himself inside a stranger's house for hours Thursday night.

The incident began at about 7:15 p.m. when an officer pulled over a vehicle near Amity and Happy Valley roads. Thirty-six-year-old John Fulton of Nampa was a passenger in the vehicle and had two warrants out for his arrest, including one for violating his parole. Police say Fulton jumped out of the car as it was still moving and began running away.

Fulton ran through the parking lot of a gas station before getting back into the car on the passenger side. The driver of the car got out, and Fulton sped away, according to police.

Officers gave chase, but the suspect did not pull over, police say. Eventually, the pursuit was called off out of concern for the safety of the public due to Fulton's speed and erratic driving.

A few minutes later, the vehicle was spotted again, Nampa Police Chief Craig Kingsbury said.

"They then found the vehicle abandoned," Kingsbury said. "A short time later, another officer saw the subject they were looking for running on foot."

Fulton ran to a home near Northwest Nazarene University on the corner of Fern Street and Clark Avenue and barricaded himself inside, Kingsbury said. Police say everyone who lives inside the home was able to get out safely. Nampa police surrounded the home and brought in a tactical team to try tonegotiate with Fulton.

"Officers tried to initiated verbal contact with the individual to no avail," Kingsbury said. "Due to the fact that he has a felony warrant, due to the fact of the pursuit, and due to the fact of some of the knowledge of his history, they determined this to be a dangerous situation."

Fulton was taken into custody without incident after a six-hour standoff, during which the 900 block of Clark Avenue was blocked off.

Fulton has been booked into the Canyon County Jail on the two warrants as well as charges of felony eluding, driving without privileges, and obstructing or delaying officers.

Police are seeking an armed man wanted in connection with several crimes and believed to be driving a stolen car.

Sgt. Nathan Thompson, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office spokesman, said police are looking for 34-year-old Aaron Gray, sought in connection with several crimes over the past week, including theft of firearms and eluding police officers.

Thompson said Gresham police reported that Gray was spotted Monday while driving a stolen silver Audi A6 with Oregon license plates 061-GJM.

Gray is described as 5-foot-10, 205 pounds.

Thompson said Gray is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who spots him or the stolen car should call 911 immediately.

WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. -- Instead of getting ready to graduate, a White Bear Lake High School senior is in jail, charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct.
According to court records, 18-year old Alexander Lindeke met a 12-year-old girl online and asked her to send him an explicit video. The girl told investigators that Lindeke threatened to post the video online after she sent it to him.
The girl told authorities that in an attempt to stop him, she and a 13-year old friend met Lindeke at Cummings park in Arden Hills where they performed a sex act on him.
Authorities arrested him at school last Friday.

Police make arrest in double stabbing at Bangor Mall

Bangor Police arrested a woman for allegedly stabbing two people at the Bangor Mall Tuesday. It appears to be a random act.
Employees confirm that the first stabbing happened at American Eagle at 11:35 a.m. Police said the second stabbing occurred in the JCPenney's bathroom at 11:58 a.m.

One bystander, who does not want to be identified, said she was in the bathroom at JCPenney when she heard someone say, "I've been stabbed." She then came out of the stall and saw the victim bleeding. The victim told her she was washing her hands at the sink, when a woman came out of a stall and stabbed her in the upper back.

According to police, the victim at American Eagle also suffered a stab wound to the right shoulder. The two victims were taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center, but they have been treated and released.

After receiving information from a detective with the Farmington Police Department, 34-year-old Elizabeth Ellis was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault. Police said neither victim knew Ellis.

Bangor Police closed down the mall for part of the afternoon. No one could enter, but people could exit.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the individuals who were injured and we hope for their speedy recovery. Bangor Mall is working closely with the Bangor Police Department in the investigation," said the mall's General Manager, James Gerety.

Bangor Police, the Penobscot County Sheriff's office and K-9 units were all on scene.

Lets not forget that for every black person in this country their are 6 whites. But, isn't there stats specifically on intraracial crime? I read somewhere that 86% of crimes white people commit are against other whites, as opposed to 90% of crimes committed by black people.

You want to get some up to date data brother; this is from 2005. Also that data is from the conviction of crimes; which means people that were arrested and found guilty of the crime. You know and I know and everybody else knows that white people commit more crimes and are aressted more than blacks; but are not convicted of the crime. Black people are arrested and convicted no matter what; that's why those numbers are off.

A white person needs 1000000% of evidence to be convicted of a crime; a black person just needs somebody to point at them, even a blind person will do. They even tried to get the Oj Simpson's dog to to snitch on him in the OJ Simpson case; but dogs can't talk.

31-mile chase ends in Decatur cornfield, driver found with meth, police say

DECATUR, MI -- A Decatur man is in jail after police say he led deputies on a 31-mile, high-speed chase through Van Buren County.


Van Buren County Sheriff's deputies tried to pull over the man's vehicle Sunday afternoon, according to a news release. The vehicle then led police on a high-speed chase for about 31 miles, police say.


The suspect vehicle eventually got stuck in a cornfield near the 71000 block of Territorial Road in Decatur. The suspect, 43-year-old Charles White, was found in possession of methamphetamine and was found to be a parole absconder and driving on a suspended license, police say.


The man was taken to Van Buren County Jail on charges of fleeing and eluding and possession of meth. A female passenger was released at the scene.


Michigan State Police, Decatur Police and Pokagon Tribal Police all assisted in the pursuit.
