it's not a statement made to shift blame or not take responsibility for actions. it's saying this isn't some innate behavior in black people that's an indictment on our entire ethnicity but human behavior that everyone engages in. but the microscope and who gets caught or disciplined more, and who is broadcast as symbolic of a particular negative behavior is black people. it is intellectually dishonest to claim anybody saying this just wants to get away with doing things without a spotlight being shone down. the question is, what is the purpose of trying to frame a behavior as exclusive or out of control to one specific group of people when all humans exhibit that behavior?

You're a fukkin idiot man. The reason why black people say "white people do it too" because black people ultimately seek to be treated fairly under the "fair and equal" constitution.
If the constitution says that all men and women are to be treated equal, rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, etc why can't black people expect to be treated fairly under these laws, rights and by laws?

I've never read a post with the "but white people do it too" narrative. If you're you're talking about how white people like to use the rhetoric of black on black crime as a diversion tactic away from cops killing innocent, unarmed Blacks, then yes, there has been the retort of white on white, latino on latino crime....etc. We spend a lot time attacking a certain sect of Black population, without going deeper and truly examining the root cause. We want to sit here and act as if Blacks had the keys to kingdom here in the U.S. since 1619, but somehow we fukked it up.
We are always left with the obligation of defending or denouncing the behavior of a few to the masses, instead of championing the accomplishments of the many in our community.
