I wouldn't jump to that conclusion so quickly

Their weapon builds seem legit according to some experts. The J-20 isn't in the same class as the F-22 or SU-57 but still a legit threat.

But now with the emergence of stealth they have been developing new radars that can detect stealth aircrafts like the 5th gen planes coming out which is why Lockheed and GD no longer advertise the F22 and F35 as "invisible to radar" but now changed the language to "they have reduced radar signature".

Truth is they are not as experienced in building modern weapons as the US, Russia, France and UK but they are not far behind whole still purchasing lots of modern Russian built stuff. Quantity is one thing they don't lack and as a wise man once said " quantity is another quality in itself"
