A heartless thug who filmed himself knocking out an elderly African American man for the 'knockout game' has been charged with a race hate crime.
Conrad Barrett, 29, who is white, recorded cell phone video of the horrific moment that he found and then punched Roy Coleman, 79, to the ground in Katy, Texas.
Barrett filmed himself in the minutes before the unprovoked attack as he cruised the streets looking for an 'elderly black victim.'
'Gonna have to step up the courage,'Barrett says at the beginning of the clip.
'For about a week now I've been unable to go through with this plan,' he adds while driving and looking for a target.

Roy Coleman, pictured, was left with severe injuries after the 2013 attack which included a fractured jaw in two places and missing teeth
'The plan is to see if I hit an elderly black person, would this be televised nationally? They hit defenseless people. I'm not gonna go that low. I'm unable to do that.'
Spotting Coleman, Barrett exits his vehicle with an audible laugh and approaches the elderly man warmly.
He says: 'Hey, how's it going man? huh? How you doing? before punching Coleman in the face sending him flying to the ground before running off laughing and saying 'Knockout!'
'Knockout baby! he adds laughing hysterically as he jumps back into his car and quickly drives away.
Barrett left Coleman with severe injuries following the sickening attack in November 2013.
He fractured the elderly man's jaw in two places and left him with missing teeth.
Barrett who has been dubbed the 'Knockout Guy' was arrested hours later when he showed the video to an off-duty police officer on Thanksgiving weekend in 2013.
There have been a series of similar attacks worldwide where attackers sucker punch victims on camera for their own amusement and then run away

The footage was a pivotal part of the case against the young thug who also filmed himself saying the n-word and commenting that black people 'haven't fully experienced the blessing of evolution.'
The U.S. Department of Justice made the cellphone video public on Friday after a Freedom of Information Act request by the Houston Chronicle on the basis it had been introduced in court as evidence.
