political apathy will be our doom if we dont watch out
Reminder that the Supreme court didn't exist for years after the US was established as an independent country.

Chances are the whole thing will have to be rebuilt from scratch. It's obvious how anti democratic it is and it just needs to go. These justices aren't politically independent, their interpretations of the law are influenced by their own personal beliefs and the rest of the country should not be held hostage by the whims of aging cacs whose only knowledge of black people is what they see in media and what their racist parents and grandparents told them about us.

We need to start over, the only question is how much blood will need to be spilled in order to make it happen. We could do things like canada did with its charter of rights and freedoms which was relatively peaceful, or we can do it the way many Latin American and African countries had to do it: with a Civil War.

I'm hopeful we can do this bloodless, but with how extreme the Republicans have gotten(they really are not conservatives anymore, they're pushing for new legislation rather than maintaining the status quo) blood will need to be spilled and jails filled. There is no appealing to these peoples sense of logic or reason. They don't have that anymore and are driven purely by emotion. They vote against legislation that would help their states because it's proposed by a political enemy. You can't have dialogue with those kind of people so unfortunately some people really might have to die so they can be stripped of their power and can stop holding back this country.

The mistake was done with Dems voting in Hillary over Bernie.

Bernie had huge support in the rust belt states. He was going to inherent all of those Obama votes and instead they voted in a corporatist in Hillary.

She had insane amount of support from black communities in southern states.

Naw...she didn't vibe with white women and that did us all in. Soccer Moms hated her and single white women didn't see a point voting for her since they mostly believed they will see a woman president down the road...

Then they lose Roe vs Wade...but that is their own doing, white women are just like children, ignorant of their own actions.

tbh Hillary got millions more votes than trump

if the democrats got shyt done like republicans always seemed to get what they want done there wouldnt be a problem. InB4 boogeyman republican preventing dems from accomplishing their promises excuse but repubs tend to get whatever they want.

:wow:
Ive asked someone else this before, but when you say “get shyt done” what does that mean? If we check Senate, house, or white house.gov and check on what they are up to, its gonna be PDF documents of a white man shrugging?

Has it always been like this? The supreme court I mean. Has it always been so political? It means the institution is completely broken. A court which regulates administrative law is supposed to be apolitical. It's supposed to stop politicians from rigging the system in their favour, not be an active ally in doing that. The whole idea of checks and balances in a constitution relies on the checks and balances constantly fighting against each other, not working together
Part of the problem is the SCOTUS judges are referred to by their political affiliation (right wing judges, etc.) which is part of the problem. It doesn't get addressed because people are now too concerned with wokeness. Years ago it was social justice warriors (SJW) and liberals. All of it is the distraction and unfortunately its effective.
