Some of this is true, especially the fake/passive aggressive shyt. However we're treated as angry before we even get angry. I've had tellers and waitstaff get an attitude with me in anticipation of an attitude that I hadn't shown. It's the whole 'getting bad service because they think you don't tip' phenomenon, only for many black women its more than bad service- people actually treat you like you've have already gone off on them.

i understand BW get a bad rep, just like BM get the rep of violent criminals before we even walk in the room. i also notice a lot of BW acting overly polite to fight that stigma. but to compare your plight to other races of women and equalize their problems with yours only hurts yourself in the long run.

instead of pretending everything is equal across the board, it'd be more beneficial to admit there's forces coming from in and outside the black community that creates "angry black women". hell, those attitudes werent created in a vacuum.

at the end of the day this doesnt matter if shes projecting an attitude towards someone who they just met or hasnt done anything to create the attitude. Sure it may be justified...but no one is really trying to put up with a salty bitter bytch even if it is.

Although many do adhere to the stereotype, I do believe that black women are unfairly judged for having bad attitudes. On the other hand, I think that many people overlook the bad attitudes of many white women!

I was at the Container Store earlier this afternoon and I walked up to these three chicks and asked where the check out line was. This ugly ass toad in the middle gave me the most vicious of death stares.

And I was like, bytch, it's not my fault you're ugly and I look better than you.

Her friends were nice enough to guide me in the right direction and I simply smiled and thanked them before going on about me day.

I've noticed and experienced this a lot. If you're black, look pretty well-to-do and don't cower down to cacs on the streets, they can get really irritated and exhibit a lot of aggressive and negative energy toward you.

the only big difference i've seen with dealing with white vs. black women, is that a small % black women are extremely sensitive to percieved racial slights

In my experience black and spanish women will have more attitude than white women. I definitely see more black women trying to start a fight with a nikka for a disagreement than white women. At least white women more often than not know they aren't whooping a grown man's ass.

And sure money and environment may play some part in all of this, but from what I've seen it seems to be more culturally embedded because I've seen a similarities with BW in how they respond to people even with the ideal socio-economic circumstances. Alot of time based on how they respond physically and verbally, I can't usually tell the difference between a poor BW and one with some education and money.

I feel like the people on this site refuse to admit anything in this aspect because they might feel they are turning their back on their own race or something...but this problem tends to be the truth. The best way to put it is that black women tend to forget more than any other race that they are indeed women. They need to be in control rather than the man, which may be why they tend to act up more than others. Or it can simply be mere chips on their soldier from different things they gotta put up with being black and being a woman. I don't deny they may have more hardships, but with that being said they also have more attitude and IMO quite unncessary

Nah blk women are always judged by the worst elements of our race. Hell all blk people are. Most people wouldn't disagree with that, but somehow that doesn't apply to blk women?

But blks in this thread seem unwilling to acknowledge any struggle a blk woman goes through b/c many have probably used these stereotypes or perpetrated them as well when it benefits them. (Ie caping for white puss)

Preconceived notions and stereotypes rob individuals of their humanity. So blk women aren't allowed to experience a full range of human emotion without sacrificing her femininity b/c she's already in a social box. In a lot of cases even blk men are now stereotyping their own women. Not b/c all or most blk women have attitudes, but b/c the ones they choose to deal with do.
Because the the myriad of images they see and hear about their women in the media say they do. I think now a days some of our men don't know us. They know the caricatures of blk women but they don't know us. For some, the image of blk women is frozen in stereotypical 90s caricatures of neck Rollin, finger snapping Shenequas. We're being held accountable for the mistakes of a minority within a minority.

This thread is actually pretty ironic but some of y'all won't get why.
