A longtime pro wrestling columnist for the Detroit News, James Thompson, was arrested in 2000 for fondling two teenage boys. Thompson, who went under the pseudonym of ‘M.L. Curly’ while writing his newspaper column later admitted to having sex with hundreds of underage boys the last 35 years. Thompson also had a pro wrestling hotline and often attended wrestling shows in the Detroit area where he came in contact with many of his victims.
Police raided his home and allegedly discovered countless photos of underage boys in various states of undress and sexual positions. Thompson was ultimately sent to prison and served 16 years before being released in 2016.
