Only in regards to impact its a bad comparison bcuz his flash wuz brighter but they were both succesful,dmx just had to fall harder than them....quality wise I'm right on the money,classic debut album,near classic followups and its been downhill since quality wise....I don't think any of them belong as overated as I think DMX is,but if anybody puttin Plies or Webbie in that category X gotta go too in terms of quality....would 50cent fit this topic?if u consider his flash came during the grodt period,nobody has fallin off as drastically both quality wise as well as succeswise as bad as he did after only 1 album.....on the otherhand ud have to discount his mixtape run....but are we judging from the point of the actual flash tho

dmx had a 3 album run on top, as well as crew albums, headlined/co-headlined 2 legendary tours and a semi-legendary one, plus did a chitload of movies. that's not a flash-n-the-pan. plus "grand champ" got love as well. dmx actually had one of the better careers in hip-hop. its just that when he got on, he wasted no time doing chit immediately. your average cat would've spread that chit out into a 5-year span and still would've did less. and still dmx' run was like close to 4 years, so how is that a flash-n-the pan?

quality-wise? I like plies & webbie, but youre really gonna sit up here and compare their work to DMX? LOL.

50's not a flash-n-the-pan neither. '99-04. and if you want to go by his commercial success, it would be '03-07.
