The good - Randle and RJ got off enough offense to beat a tough Miami defense. Grimes, McBride, and Hart gave enough defense to hold things down. Finally, the second-unit still made contributions without IQ to carry it.

The bad - Randle and RJ go right back to turnover-prone plays and slow offense without Jalen Brunson to reel them in and guide things. Sims hasn't held up against the tougher bigs in the league. RJ and Randle's defense showed some spirit but slipped more and more as the game kept going.

The ugly - The crunch time strategy didn't shift or change at all without Brunson. They just gave Brunson's isos to RJ who isn't really built to handle that much work with an entire defense loading against him. His kickout reads have improved, but he's gotta get way better at it to close games with constant isolations.

Kyrie Irving has demanded a trade with 6 days to go until the deadline...I wonder what this'll do to the current negotiations and trade values.
I think he is either fukking it all up or adding urgency.

Not for him, but for teams considering if Durant will be available sooner than later. Some teams might not want to spend anything to have what is needed for a Durant trade. Flipside draft picks might go up in value. It’s going to cost a lot of those for KD if he leaves. The Nets are going to want picks to start from scratch.

There is a legitimate chance the Mavs remove their 2023 draft pick protection on this year’s pick in order to pull this trade off. Right now I don’t think they can officially offer up any picks 11-30 until 2027 because until it conveys the Knicks have rights to them.

What’s it gonna take for the Nets to come off KD… :takedat:

Your picks are worthless to Brooklyn. It doesn't matter if Marks drafts 5 LeBron's. If the Knicks ever won because they got KD from Brooklyn, the Nets might as well leave town forever.
