We need to just build up our bench and get some shooters because I’m assuming we’re still keeping Randle :francis:

Ideally these players would all be solid pickups

bojan bogdanović
Buddy hield
Joe ingles
Doug McDermott
Tyus Jones
Tj McConnell
Myles Turner
Brandon Clarke

Pretty much. Shooters should be the number 1 priority this off season for the FO. As much as I’m done with Randle I don’t see him going anywhere :francis:

Cam Johnson would be a good pick up. I don't know if the Nets do it though.

What's the summary on Kyle Kuzma this past year?
I think he has a player option, but it'd be too expensive to sign him straight up.
He's CAA though, so who knows what Leon Rose can piece together.

I'd also throw Donte DiVincenzo's name in there for free agency targets, assuming he opts out.
Could make the Villanova guard cypher complete.

Any scenario where the Knicks keep Randle seems unrealistic to me
Idc how close he is with the front office, the relationship with the fans has gotten extremely toxic I don't see how they can keep him
I will always support my Knick.

But, you may be right.

That being said, the bench needs consistency.

That was the difference.

The majority of casual fans who hate Randle now was kissing Randle’s ass again like it was 2020 when he was playing better. They’ll do it a third time too if the Knicks are winning. I get the calls to trade him, but they can’t ship him out without a plan. Randle was a All Star, All NBA player last season. To his credit he came back quickly from a ankle injury because the Knicks loss game one at home without him. This is after missing the end of the season because of injuries too.

The Knicks need the following:
  1. Improved outside shooting
  2. Consistent bench production that include self creation.
  3. A PF who can operate in the half court offense behind Randle, who can also get consistent minutes playing SF.
  4. Thibs to stop with the Hockey subs and play more combinations of the roster with each other regularly.
  5. The introduction of small ball offense.
A star player would be great, but they don’t need a star player.

knicks front office is super cautious
they are trying to avoid being laughing stocks like teams from the past, they aren't aggressively trying to get get a championship. There's a difference.

All our moves have been low risk, high reward type moves (except for fournier, and they gave up on him rather quickly). At some point, if you wanna go for it, you gotta get out that mentality and take a big swing..

Trading an all nba third team player and tryin to fill that void takes work and some guts. This isnt like Brunson falling into our lap, they are really gonna have to go into their bag and im not sure they want to.

Kuzma only fits as a Randle replacement. Other than that, I feel like it’s a gross waste of resources. Donte would be a great get.

They absolutely need a star player. They may not need it NOW, meaning going all in on the wrong guy, but just look at the 4 teams left. All led by megastars. Brunson is an entire level below them which is perfectly fine, especially for the cost we got him at. I love him to death but he works WAY too hard to get to 30 points a night. We just don’t have a guy who can do what Tatum did for Boston yesterday.

we just saw a team with two top 10 guys in KD and Booker get beat by Jokic, Murray, and MPJ. If Brunson is 1A you got to build around him to win and get stars if they make sense.

RJ will always have my respect. He takes accountability, takes criticism on the chin, doesn't complain or act out publicly, & gets his ass in the gym to try to be better. He probably will never be a star but he's one of the most mentally strong young guys in the league. Watch his reaction to questions about how he played & then look at Randle's

I really hope we move this clown

What I will say about this team… we are building in a traditional way. This is how teams used to progress. You make the playoffs and lose in the first round. You make some roster adjustments, grow and get to the next round (typically the next year). There’s still a very real world where we just improve the bench and are a team that can compete for the conference championship next season. Just projecting, it’s extremely possible we’re going into the next season at minimum the third best team in the East depending on how much Miami cares about the regular season. Boston should be back on top too. But Milwaukee could take a step back and Philly definitely will. Barring any big moves, our only comp for third in the East is Cleveland.

Absolute pipe dream is Embiid
Granted he declines in the playoffs basically every year but even a declined playoff Embiid is basically regular season Julius

Philly has a decision to make here on what they want to do going forward especially if they lose Harden. They either need to move Maxey and Tobias for another big star like Dame or blow it up by moving Joel. It would kinda require Joel asking out though and we still really haven't seen international players follow that trend yet. Also Portland has a way better trade package if they decided to finally go after a star to pair with Dame

He’s as good as Donovan Mitchell and for a whole summer everyone thought he was good enough to be the 1A.
