When he’s on he’s a good player the problem is he needs to do that for a whole season. It doesn’t help that he is playing as the third left handed player in the starting lineup.

Even with those cold spells, he's still putting up comparable or better numbers, on average, than players considered to be better than him that have better shooting splits than him.

Guys like Garland, Herro and Poole have all had seasons of comparable minutes/usage and put up similar numbers despite better splits. RJ moves away from the 3 a bit, works on his finishing and attacks the rim more and continues to improve his FT shooting and he might actually be worth holding on to.
